Do you or a loved one suffer with non-healing wounds?
We all suffer cuts, scratches, burns, sores, and some larger wounds as part of a normal active life style. Given a careful cleaning, some antiseptic cream, and a bandage, most minor sores will begin to heal immediately and close completely within a few days. However, some people develop wounds that will not heal, even after many months, and require highly specialized chronic wound treatment. Without such specialized care, these chronic wound patients and their families often face many years of pain, disability, failed conventional medical care, and endless weekly visits for treatment. If you have a wound that will not heal, the Jorge Beale, MD Chronic Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Center can help you!
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO2) in addition to intensive wound care offers new hope to patients that have not healed using conventional wound care techniques, including many who are at risk for limb amputations. This proven therapy increases circulation, promotes new tissue growth, and fights infection. HBO2 often provides the "missing link" in both chronic wound treatment and emergency medical services. HBO2 often closes the most difficult wounds not healed after many years of traditional wound care, and can help manage severe infections and trauma that often otherwise result in amputation.
Many of our patients come to us after years of conventional Wound Care "maintenance" that has failed to resolve their wounds. Special and reconstructive surgery is often a fundamental part of chronic wound treatment and successful wound closure. Our Center has one of the most advanced and experienced general and reconstructive surgery groups in the nation. Our surgical team routinely conducts complex reconstructive surgeries that include rotated and advanced flaps, free flaps, skin grafting and surgery in tissues that have been exposed to radiation in the treatment of cancer.
Why Some Wounds will not Heal
Many non-healing wounds and sores are actually caused by other illness or underlying medical conditions that the patient may not be aware of. Diabetes, smoking, other causes of poor blood circulation, heart problems, poor nutrition and conflicting combinations of medications can often cause wounds to develop—especially in the legs and feet—that simply will not heal using conventional medicine.
Our comprehensive and individualized medical care can often heal the most difficult non-healing wounds which compromise quality of life and threaten permanent disability and possible limb amputation. In fact, many of the patients and families that come to us for a second opinion actually don’t need an amputation, just the next level of care.
If you and your loved one’s have been suffering with disability and the seemingly endless attempts to heal your persistent sores or bone infection without success. If you have been told that there is nothing medically left to do for your illness and face the possibility of limb amputation, come see us. We specialize in treating patients just like you, with outstanding results. Call us for an appointment at 914.361.6626.
