The commitment of an institution to offer education and training to physicians is the cornerstone in the foundation of its mission to provide high quality care to patients. As the largest private teaching hospital in Westchester County and a major affiliate of New York Medical College, Sound Shore Medical Center's residency programs have met and exceeded all of the requirements established by the College.

The opportunity to complete residency training at Sound Shore Medical Center enables young physicians to collaborate with a team of skilled professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists and surgeons with a range of highly specialized skills and care for patients with a range of complex acute and chronic illnesses. Housestaff participate in every phase of the care rendered to patients.

Graduates of the residency programs at Sound Shore Medical Center are fully prepared to render excellent, appropriate and compassionate care to patients. Many of our graduates continue their training in subspecialty residencies or fellowship programs at major teaching centers throughout the nation. Others may join the practices of attending physicians.
